On 31 March, Lublin Airport launched a new seasonal route to Trapani in Sicily. Flights will operate twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, until October. “I am delighted to invite our passengers to take advantage of this very attractive destination. We are flying to Trapani, in the western part of Sicily. This is yet another new route, strengthening Lublin’s position on the aviation map of Poland and in this part of Europe,” says Dariusz Krzowski, CEO of Lublin Airport. Trapani, situated on Sicily, Italy’s largest island, is famous for its charming streets, azure sea and proximity to unique tourist attractions, such as the Zingaro Nature Reserve and the town of Erice. It is the perfect destination for both family holidays and weekend getaways. – The launch of the route to Trapani is the next step in the development of our airport’s offering and a response to the growing interest among residents of the region in holiday destinations. Sicily is a unique place, combining natural beauty, history and culture, which is why I am delighted that it is now accessible directly from Lublin. We are consistently strengthening our route network, enhancing the city’s transport links and opening up new travel opportunities,” says Krzysztof Żuk, Mayor of Lublin. – The new route complements the existing range of flights to Italy from Lublin Airport – for several seasons now, passengers have been able to fly to Bergamo, the gateway to northern Italy and Milan, which, like the flights to Trapani, is operated by Ryanair. – Lublin Airport is consistently expanding its range of services for both tourists and business travellers. Flights to Sicily are the next connection from the Lublin Province to Italy, this time to a different part of the country. I am convinced that such an attractive destination will spark the interest of a large number of residents of the Lublin region and neighbouring areas, whilst also providing a new impetus for the development of our airport,” says Jarosław Stawiarski, Marshal of the Lublin Province.
