The ribat in Tunisia, best preserved in the city of Susa, was built in the 9th century during the reign of the Aghlabid dynasty. It was a defensive structure protecting the coast of Tunisia from invasions from the Mediterranean Sea. At the same time, it served a religious function, as it was home to warriors devoted to prayer and the defense of Islam.<\/p>\n

It is characterized by massive stone walls, watchtowers, and an inner courtyard. The ribat is an important monument of Tunisian history and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n \n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n
